Is Astroglide safe to use with condoms?
Whether you choose a water based lube or a silicone lube, most Astroglide personal lubricants are latex safe (check product packaging for more info). Petroleum-based products like Vaseline, baby oil or mineral oil can break down the latex in condoms, increasing the risk of pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. In addition, moisture creams and lotions can interfere with vaginal pH levels, and can cause irritation or yeast infections.
Can Astroglide cause irritation?
Astroglide does not contain fragrances, colorings or other ingredients that are common irritants. However, any topical product can cause irritation. If you feel that you may be sensitive to one of the ingredients, test the personal lubricant on a small patch of skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use. Many people who are prone to skin irritation prefer allergy tested and dermatologist reviewed Astroglide Ultra Gentle Gel or a natural lube such as Astroglide Organix.
Can Astroglide cause a yeast infection?
While some women’s journals cite personal lubricants containing glycerin as a source of yeast infections, this is not true. In fact, some yeast infection cures contain glycerin. However, an existing yeast infection can be made worse by products containing a large percentage of glycerin. This is because the sugars in glycerin act as a food source for the yeast.
Women who are prone to yeast infections may choose to use natural lubricants free from glycerin and parabens, like Astroglide Glycerin & Paraben Free Liquid or Astroglide X Silicone Gel.
What happens if Astroglide is swallowed during intimate activity?
We know that Astroglide products may taste great, but you should not drink the bottle. That said, there’s no shame in a little swallowing. Astroglide personal lubricants are non-toxic and ingesting small amounts should not be harmful.
Where can I purchase Astroglide personal lube?

Has the formula for ASTROGLIDE Liquid changed?
Yes. If you've noticed any subtle changes in the product’s consistency, we've replaced one of the ingredients, Polyquaternium-15, with Polyquaternium-7, a more common ingredient used in personal care products such as shampoo, conditioners, skincare, etc. The switch was necessary due to Polyquaternium-15 being no longer available.
Do Astroglide products contain parabens?
Each formula of Astroglide has its own unique blend of ingredients. Our silicone formulas, Astroglide X Liquid and Astroglide X Gel , Astroglide Organix , and Astroglide Ultra Gentle Gel do not include parabens. Parabens are included in some Astroglide formulas to protect against microbial growth, both for consumer safety and to maintain product integrity. The FDA deems them safe and the American Cancer Society says there are no clear health risks associated with parabens in cosmetics. That's why parabens are the most widely used class of preservatives in cosmetic products.
